1. Net Zero

As a group, we are committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2045. Linear UK Group has committed to set near- and long-term company-wide emission reductions in line with science-based net-zero with the SBTi. To achieve our emission reduction targets, we have developed a Carbon Reduction Plan including our measures and initiatives on the road to net zero. At Linear UK Group we emphasise stakeholder engagement and collaboration with our clients and supply chain parters to drive decarbonisation of entire projects, and across the whole value chain

2. Social Value

In the context of our social value initiatives, we place our focus on the creation of local employment opportunities within our offices and projects, investments in education and skills development, and support of charities and local community organisations. We also actively choose to work with small and diverse local suppliers, local SMEs, which simultaneously ties in with our sustainable procurement goals. Overall, we commit to promoting an inclusive, sustainable working environment and uplifting the health and wellbeing of our workforce and the communities we serve.

3. Circularity

Following the motto ‘a Linear route to a circular future’ we are aiming to move away from a traditional take-make-dispose economy towards a circular approach. We are seeking to increase resource efficiency and reduce waste across our projects, keep materials in use with retained value, and regenerate natural systems. In the application of circular economy principles, we recognise the importance of collaboration across the entire supply chain and early consideration in both the planning and construction stages. We believe that the application of circular economy principles will not only play a relevant part of the solution in moving towards net zero but can have a positive impact on the natural environment beyond carbon reduction, including biodiversity protection.

4. Sustainable Procurement

To promote sustainable procurement, we developed a sustainable procurement plan, identifying the risks and opportunities of procurement against a broad range of social, environmental, and economic issues. Our sustainable procurement practices include the focus on sourcing re-purposed, renewable, and recyclable raw materials, sustainably sourced resources and materials including FSC® certified timber, seeking opportunities for reusing materials throughout the supply chain as well as sourcing from local suppliers demonstrating high standards of business responsibility and transparency.

5. Biodiversity

We recognise that biodiversity is essential to human health and wellbeing, and survival. Our goals are to halt the overall loss of biodiversity and work towards biodiversity net gain. To achieve this, we are making sure that our planning and decision making are informed by ecological information. In our approach to biodiversity preservation and enhancement, we consider the biodiversity mitigation hierarchy, which emphasises the preference to avoid impacts, then to mitigate impacts that are unavoidable, and only as a last option the compensation of unavoidable residual impacts remaining after the first two measures.
