Transforming healthcare in Forth Valley with robotic technology.

location
Stirling Rd, Larbert FK5 4WR

Built to an innovative, human-scale design, Britain’s first robotised hospital resulted from advanced pioneering technology and collaborative thinking.

This collaboration was key to the workings of the project design team and key stakeholders from the outset. Being co-located ensured close relationships were maintained and communication was optimised, with the use of BIM helping coordination. At its peak, 155 Linear employees were working on the project, 95% of whom were from within a 30 mile radius.

At least six months prior to the start date, we were engaged in design and VE so were able to demonstrate the commitment and expertise which persuaded Laing O’Rourke to place three packages worth £11m with us.

“The reason we sought only to work such a joined up partnering approach with Linear Projects was due to their specific brand of can-do positive attitude as well as their obvious shared common goals with ours. After four years of working together we are able to say without exception that we achieved all of our original aims and perhaps a few more besides.” Paul Barrie, Project Leader, Laing O’Rourke.
