Mental Health Programme reflects Linear commitment to wellbeing

Mental health in the workplace is now receiving the attention and focus it has been needing for a long time, greatly increasing awareness and helping to remove some of the stigma; however, within the construction industry we still have a long, long way to go

Phase 1 of our mental health support programme was launched on “Time to Talk Day”  on the 6th February by our CEO Stephen Holmes.

Throughout February and March, all Linear employees will attend mental health awareness sessions accredited to RQF & SCQF framework and delivered by our HSE Manager Garry Willis.

The sessions are designed to signpost Linear’s commitment to the health and wellbeing of every employee.  Additionally they will identify sources of support should anyone need to share any concerns and issues they may have personally, at work or concerning a friend or colleague; simply put, having effective conversations in the workplace.

The objectives for Linear Group are clear; to remove stigma, maintain a culture of prevention, support and empower our people and the sustainability of mental health support we provide. We can easily achieve the objectives with the support of our people taking ownership and providing them with opportunities to help establish and be part of our mental health support and steering group.

Commenting on the programme, Stephen Holmes, CEO, said, “Mental wellbeing and awareness is become a key factor in ensuring an effective duty of care for employees and we take this very seriously at Linear.  The programme developed by Garry will ensure we have the right support and guidance in place within this vital area and I am delighted that all our staff will benefit from this approach.”
