Riverside Development Ayr (The Cutty Sark Centre)

LDC was appointed principal contractor to deliver key aspects of the comprehensive rejuvenation of Ayr Town Centre. Set to transform Ayr, the Riverside Public Realm has created an exciting and inspiring space offering both practicality and functionality for the local people. Working on behalf of hub South West and South Ayrshire Council, LDC’s scope included extensive ground and landscaping works to create a high quality public realm and community pavilion overlooking the River Ayr. The completed area now plays host to an array of dynamic local events including markets, concerts and events as well as providing a space for walking, relaxing and enjoying the riverside surroundings. Partnering with an experienced and expert design team, the team supported the vision to deliver the ongoing vitality and viability of the town centre, whilst integrating the new space with its historically important surrounding environment. The project achieved a CCS score of 43 – Excellent.
