Located in the heart of Manchester’s vibrant City Centre, First Street is the ambitious transformation of the former Gaythorn Gas Works into a new neighbourhood.
The team at Linear Projects recently secured their first contract with this landmark development. Calling on a well-established collaborative and extensive experience in this field of work, Linear Projects have been appointed by Downing Construction Ltd, to provide the partitioning and ceiling package for one of the four blocks within the development.
Designed by architects, Simpson Haugh Partnership, the high-quality, purpose-built vibrant new co-living accommodation will provide 2224 beds in the city centre alongside shared amenity spaces and active ground floor uses. The package will see Linear Projects deliver the ceilings, partitions and plaster for around 600 apartments including communal spaces.

Work began on site in June 2023 and is due for completion Feb 2025.
