Historic refurbishment future-proofs Scottish Bible Society HQ.
In August 2019, LDC began the careful and sensitive refurbishment of the historic HQ of the Scottish Bible Society in Edinburgh’s West End.
The four month project involved a complete internal refurbishment of the Society’s headquarters including opening up various spaces to enhance lighting and natural ventilation.
Home to the Society since 1976, the CAT C listed church, which is protected by Historic Scotland, houses a team of 20 staff. Looking to enhance the working environment, they recognised the need to modernise and upgrade the accommodation in line with its evolved purpose and focus, as well as to provide its staff with improved surroundings.
“We really enjoyed working with the team at Linear on the refurbishment of our building. Throughout the project we found them to be very professional, transparent in all their communications and they had a clear understanding of what we wanted to achieve through the process. We were fortunate that Linear also understood our budget and timescales for completing the works. It was positive experience that has produced a modern space that, I’m sure, can be utilised for years to come.”
