Community Bothy and a vewing point above the tree canopy within nature park in Glasgow
The LDC team were appointed to complete the design and build of a community bothy within the Cuningar Loop nature park of Glasgow. Starting on site in April 2021, the new building provides a robust space connected to the park and woodland, offering an area for talks, nature and arts events, play and community gatherings. We worked closely with JM Architects to create a design sympathetic to its surrounding location, encouraging the protection and nurture of wildlife and species. The facility also includes a cafe and facilities, community gardens and cycle storage. Alongside the Bothy, the team were appointed to create a Tur. This is linked to the Bothy building and is a viewing point above the tree canopy, allowing visitors to enjoy views across the park.
