With a focus on transforming an office fit for today’s modern workplace, whilst retaining the key features of the magnificent CAT C listed church, this project required a mix of refurbishment and restoration expertise.  Built in 1867 and protected by Historic Scotland, this stunning building has been home to The Scottish Bible Society since 1976.

LDC were appointed Principal Contractor by Scottish Bible Society and Doig & Smith to deliver a full fit out and refurbishment to the historic building.  Working collaboratively with the design team led by Michael Laird Architects, LDC completed the 18 week Fast Track programme of work, whilst ensuring the highest levels of quality and professionalism.

Ryan Broadley, Managing Director of Linear Design & Construct said: “I am delighted with our teams performance on this project where we implemented our Digital Platform for Quality Control and Health & Safety, resulting in zero defects and an exemplary health and safety record. Through this contract, we have been able to demonstrate our expertise, professionalism and commitment and forge positive relationships for the future. Working in partnership with the client, Doig & Smith and Michael Laird Architects has proved of huge benefit to the project and gave us great confidence in our offer and approach.”

Ross McFarlane, Director of Finance at Scottish Bible Society, said, “We really enjoyed working with the team at Linear on the refurbishment of our building. Throughout the project we found them to be very professional, transparent in all their communications and they had a clear understanding of what we wanted to achieve through the process. We were fortunate that Linear also understood our budget and timescales for completing the works. It was positive experience that has produced a modern space that, I’m sure, can be utilised for years to come.”

The Scottish Bible Society is a fully independent charity, registered in Scotland, focused on the distribution of Bibles, New Testaments and other Scripture-based materials, in a range of media, both across Scotland and throughout the world.
