Edinburgh is set for a retail revolution in 2020 with the completion of the redevelopment of the St James Centre in the heart of Scotland’s capital city.
This mixed-use scheme is one of the largest and most significant regeneration projects currently underway in the UK.
Comprising 850,000 sq ft of retail space, the site will incorporate 85 new shops and 32 food and beverage units, an Everyman Cinema, up to 150 new homes, a five-star luxury W Hotel, a Roomzzz Aparthotel and three new public squares.
Our involvement in this major project began back in September 2015 when we partnered with Laing O’Rourke during the bid stage and were officially appointed as a subcontractor in September 2018. The project involves the design and delivery of a range of packages including dry lining, architectural metal work and hv cable enclosures.
As part of the project, we are committed to a higher level of engagement with LOR’s BIM lead Work Package procedures. These integrate method statements, risk assessments, procurement, take offs, applications, quality controls, material verification, technical submittals, handovers.
