LDC has secured its first contract on the North of England, only two months since establishing presence in the region.
Following a multi-million pound investment from Bolton Council, Essa Academy in Great Lever has appointed LDC to help fulfil its vision to provide enhanced facilities and capacity for up to 200 more pupils from across the borough by 2024.
The team at LDC will create a new state of the art laboratory and teaching space, as well as construct a new feature staircase leading to the atrium area. Appointed following a tender process, LDC began work on site in September with completion scheduled by the end of the year.
Martin Knowles, Principal of Essa Academy, said, “Over the past two years our numbers have significantly increased which is great news for the Academy and its teaching record. Now with the planned expansion we can take things a step further and grow further to offer space for even more young people. The work LDC will undertake will make an enormous difference to both the school facilities and our pupils ,and we are grateful to the Council for their support in enabling this project.”
Dan Hooker, Managing Director – LDC England, said, “This is a great start to our dedicated presence in the region and highlights our capability in the education sector. Our team have extensive experience in the sector and appreciate the needs of educational facilities. Essa Academy is a school with ambition and much to offer the local community and its young people so we are delighted to be able to play our part in bringing the vision to life with this project.”
