Integrating and enhancing Health Service provision for Children and Young People.
Edinburgh’s Sick Kids hospital has been a healthcare institution in Scotland for 150 years. Due to changing needs and a modernised approach, there was a need to relocate and re-provide services from the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and the Department of Clinical Neurosciences in a single building adjoining the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
The major project involved the design, build, finance and maintenance of a new facility to re-provide these essential services to improve and strengthen the overall patient experience and environment.
Linear Projects was initially engaged by Multiplex to provide a bespoke solution incorporating over 40,000 square metres of suspended and plasterboard ceilings, including associated BWICS, bulkheads, perimeter strips and taping and filling to plasterboard areas.
Following an unfortunate and significant flood, we worked in partnership with Multiplex to provide significantly increased labour at short notice to repair the damaged partitions, doors, ceilings, including all BWICS and leadworks to bring the project back on track and enable final completion.
