Introducing Graeme Bell, Head of Design

Brought up on a remote hill farm, Graeme’s capability to recognise and overcome challenges, is unquestionable.  Whilst continuing to work on a farm, he went on to successfully complete an HND in Civil Engineering.  Following this he achieved a BSc HONS in Civil Engineering, demonstrating a consistent determination and commitment which defines his approach.

Beginning his career with Blyth and Blyth as a Structural & Civil Engineer, which included three years a resident Engineer, Graeme moved into design management with Sir Robert McAlpine followed by Kier.

Today, this design experience is paramount to the contribution Graeme makes to LDC.  In overseeing all project pre-construction and throughout the design stages, he effectively supports every project at all construction stages through to handover stages to ensure that the quality of design feeds throughout.

Graeme said, “From the day I joined Linear I’ve felt both welcomed and supported, which reflects the positive culture of the business. I’ve found the overall ethos of collaboration and drive of the whole team a real strength and defining success factor. Everyone is committed to the same goal and are focused on doing the best job to build the company – collectively this is hugely motivating and makes for a great working environment and culture.”

Away from work, Graeme enjoys watching rugby, as well as attempting to improve his golf and fishing skills.
