Now fully operational, KPMG have moved into their new home which provides a flexible, inspirational and collaborative workspace for over  100 of their Scottish team. With this exceptional space, the KPMG team have embraced a more agile way of working, made possible by the large, flexible open spaces overlooking the stunning architecture of the Marischal College Building.

The two Stage Design & Build project began in late 2019 and the LDC team worked alongside the Design Team: Michael Laird Architects, Atelier Ten and CBRE, to ensure the delivery of the optimal solution for KPMG. The project incorporated many features inspired by Aberdeen’s rivers,  harbour and the powerful maritime ‘architecture’ servicing the industries of the North Sea.

The expert Linear team delivered all of the joinery, dry lining and suspended ceiling aspects of the project which is key to LDC’s approach to all of their projects, helping to minimise risk and ensuring high quality throughout.

Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 lockdown, the project was handed over on programme with zero defects to the delight of the client. The Linear team also put in place rigorous Risk Assessments to allow works to re-start safely after the lockdown, as well as ensuring the highest standard of finish.

Donald Reid, Director, Reid Mitchell, said, “We were delighted with the efforts of Linear Design & Construct in delivering KPMG’s new office accommodation in Aberdeen.  Despite a challenging programme, further impacted by delays as a result of COVID-19, Linear’s team worked closely with the Client team to complete the project to exceptional quality standards.” Reid Mitchell was the Clients Project Manager and G&T provided the PQS team.

Ryan Broadley, Managing Director of Linear Design & Construction said “The Linear team have really enjoyed working on this project despite the external challenges along the way. We are extremely proud of the exceptionally high standard of workmanship achieved and are confident that this will lead to future opportunities in the marketplace. Thank you to our design partners and supply chain for their unwavering partnership and performance.”
