Working to convert a former retail unit into a modern open office environment with a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating was a real challenge but testament to our ethos of early client engagement.
Due to the resultant design features, a traditional suspended ceiling was not suitable, but with over 220 staff working in the main open-plan area, noise levels needed to be controlled.
The solution was 68 Rockfon Eclipse ceiling islands suspended throughout the main office and 126 square metres of Sonar Activity B-edged tiles fixed directly to the bulkheads. The frameless islands provided a minimalistic sharp-lined edge, but they absorb sound from both sides of the panel and let air circulate freely all around.
All of this was supplemented with break-out and meeting room areas with high performing glazed partitions, all of which helped deliver a productive and pleasant working environment.
