Linear Design & Construct To Deliver State Of The Art Glencadam Distillery Visitor Centre

Owner of Glencadam Distillery in Brechin, Angus Dundee Distillers PLC, have appointed Linear Design & Construct (LDC) to undertake a significant redevelopment project which will greatly enhance the experience for visitors to the almost 200 years old distillery.

Glencadam

Located in the ancient city of Brechin, in the Eastern Highlands of Scotland, the distillery produces single malt whisky characterised by its tropical and orchard fruit flavours.

LDC were appointed following a thorough, two stage tender process to build the new, state of the art Visitor Centre, which is due for completion in Spring 2025.

The highly skilled LDC team will undertake a comprehensive 62 week build programme including the partial demolition of an existing office building to make way for the new development. This will be followed by bespoke fit out works to fulfil the vision of a new shop, exhibition space, whisky lounge, café and function room.  The existing Visitor Centre will also be transformed into an exclusive VIP suite.

Ryan Broadley, Managing Director, LDC Scotland, said, “Working on distillery projects are always exciting and fascinating for us as they combine old and new, bringing new life to properties which have been in place for decades, if not centuries.  At Glencadam Distillery, we’re delighted to be playing a part in preserving their legacy for the next generation and ensuring visitors get the very best experience.  This is a complex project due to the active nature of the site, but the team are skilled in ensuring minimal disruption to ensure a seamless build programme and the very best outcome.”

Working in partnership with an impressive design team including JM Architects, Narro Associates, DSSR, Bright and MBLA, the completed Glencadam Distillery Visitor Centre will put the experience firmly on the map and make it a must-visit destination for both tourists and whisky lovers.
